How It Works

You lease a plot from Blegacy Farms
You plant your seeds
You water your seeds
Your seeds grow into crops
You keep or sell your crops
​We provide great soil and access to water
We provide free introductory classes for new farmers
We support you through this journey

What Should You Grow?

Anything You Want* !!!! 
At Blegacy Farms you are free to grow whatever type of crop and whatever amount of crops that you desire on your plot of land.  You can grow crops to sell or just use the land to practice or teach gardening.
​However, if you grow any of the following crops the African Heritage Food Coop will buy them at market value.
​(Squash, corn, peas, cabbage, tomatoes, apples etc) 
*Crops grown must be in accordance with NY state laws and provisions 

Your Plot:

Blegacy Farms leases 1/4 Acre plots (10,000 sq. ft) of farm land to individuals and organizations on an annual basis that look to dive into the world of farming. There are 75 total plots available on a first come first serve basis.
